This authentic 1950s Boy Scouts of America request of the Arrow Ordeal sash belonged to my father. Made from thick white two-ply twill fabric, it features a red embroidered arrow and period-correct snap closure.

The purchase of the Arrow (OA) is Scouting’s national honor society, recognizing Scouts who exemplify service and leadership. This sash represents an Ordeal member—the entry level of OA—identified by the single red arrow on a white background.
